Parker Neighborhood
Parker Colorado real estate. Parker Colorado has a history that dates back to the 1860's, when a one-room shack was moved from Pine Grove to Cherry Creek to serve as a stage stop called the Twenty-Mile house. Why? Because it was twenty miles from the origination point of the Butterfield Stage, what today is the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Colfax Avenue.
Today, Parker Colorado has retained its rural equestrian roots while becoming an exciting small town with beautiful open space and well planned residential and commercial developments, and with easy access to E-470, I-25, and the Denver Technological center. Beautiful walking and biking trails and equestrian facilities abound in the Parker vicinity. Eight area golf courses, a nationally recognized family recreation center, outstanding schools, and an extensive Parks and Recreation program add to the quality of lifestyle.
Historic Franktown, located only seven miles south of Parker, was the original site of the Douglas county seat and the location of the first gold find in Colorado.
Parker Shopping Center
For those who desire acreage or stable facilities, Parker and Douglas county abound with a variety of choices. Driving around the Parker area with all the beautiful rolling green hills and pastures, white rail fences, horse stables, arenas and barns, you can see why the area is second per capita in horses to acres in Kentucky. Pickup trucks and large horse trailers are a familiar sight on Douglas county roads. Parker is a convenient choice for many because of its country setting and close proximity to Interstate 25 business parks, such as the Denver Tech Center, Inverness and Greenwood Plaza via Lincoln Avenue and E-470.
